The Grand neighborhoods were once a vibrant and thriving commercial district along Grand Boulevard. As time progressed, more and more people moved to the suburbs, until a new wave of immigrants discovered the Tower Grove neighborhoods and, like their German predecessors, began moving in, rehabilitating homes in the area and establishing restaurants and other businesses.
Today, South Grand and the surrounding neighborhoods are the most ethnically diverse in St. Louis.
